Stay
at the Farm! The Walnut Grove Farm Guest House is a bed and breakfast.
Historic Walnut Grove Farm was
homesteaded in 1835 and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places
in 1989. In the heart of the Illinois prairie, you can rest & relax or
envision what life was like on a 19th century farm or observe Knox County farm
life as it happens every day.
Many things have
changed a lot, some things very little. The Walnut Grove Farm Guest House
is a turn-of-the-century bungalow that is comfy, eclectic and artsy. It
can be yours for a focused work retreat, a romantic get a way, or a family
adventure in the heartland. History, homespun fun and hospitality await
you here in rural Knox County!
While
we have fall special events at the farm, lodging at the Guest House offers a
more personalized farm experience. A
continental breakfast is provided in the Guest House kitchen, which also has a
full size stove and refrigerator, cooking utensils and table ware,
making personal food preparation possible. Built
in the 1920's, we have sought to reflect that era with many of the
furnishings. It is a two-bedroom bungalow with a full bath, a living
room, dining room and kitchen. There is a phone with
a data port and a TV for VHS movies. Rooms in the house are rented only to
members of the same party.
The farm is conveniently located
within a mile of Knoxville Illinois, and five miles from Galesburg.
