Quilt Give Away Highlights Fine Artisans at Walnut Grove Farm

Knoxville, IL…...Walnut Grove Farm’s Barn Fest will celebrate juried artisan shopping, great local food, live music, home grown produce and kid fun with a quilt give away on October 3 & 4,10 & 11 from 9 to 5.  The farm is located ½ mile north of Knoxville at Carr St.  For details go to www.Barn-Fest.com.

For 39 years Walnut Grove Farm has hosted thousands as part of a two-county fall drive that is a cherished family tradition.  The event has evolved into an artisan showcase that features woodcarving, basketmaking, weaving, painting, soapmaking, quilting, knot tying and floral design.  Pottery, stained glass, functional home décor and wood art, fiber art, jewelry, paper mache and driftwood folk art, upcycled found art and crafts, and 3D printed sculptures, show the range of media to discover.

To call attention to the fine artisans that are being showcased at Walnut Grove Farm, Denise Witthoft of Stitchindipity has donated a stunning quilt for the Quilt Give Away during the two weekends of the 2026 Barn Fest.  For every $20 a shopper spends with the artisans at Walnut Grove Farm they will get one chance to win the quilt.  The drawing will be on Sunday October 11 at 3pm. Denise is an artist and an accomplished seamstress who has been designing quilts and other fabric and fiber home décor for 43 years.  Her love of colors and fine fabric creations has evolved from a hobby into a business.  Her wares for sale, as well as her quilt donation, will be at Walnut Grove Farm with 25 other fine artisans showcasing, and many demonstrating, their work.  Meet the people creating the art. Food and produce vendors are homegrown and local favs from herb teas to homemade pies, from grilled brats to gourmet Thai, from pumpkins to mums.  Check www.Barn-Fest.com for details.

Kids Rock the Arts Contest at Walnut Grove Farm is sponsored by Blick Art Materials and the Galesburg Community Arts Center.  Artists from Kindergarten through the 12th grade will display their work with the winners showing ribbons. More “kid fun” includes a mini ag fair presented by the Knoxville FFA, and Dragon Painting provided by Minddrifters.

Live music with each artist scheduled for two hours at 1pm are: Taproot Wranglers Oct. 3, Guilt by Association Oct. 4, John Heasly Oct. 10 and David Berchtold Oct. 11.
